Kuki Inpi Manipur Denies “900 Kuki Militant Infiltration” Allegations, Calls for Total Shutdown on September 28

Ukhrul: In response to a letter reportedly sent by the Secretary to the Chief Minister of Manipur to the Director General of Police (DGP) and Security Advisor, alleging the infiltration of 900 Kuki militants and a planned coordinated attack against the Meitei community on September 28, 2024, the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has issued a strong rebuttal, dismissing these claims as baseless and unfounded.

In a press statement, the Kuki Inpi Manipur expressed concerns over what they believe to be a fabricated narrative by the Manipur State Government, intended to justify potential actions against the Kuki-Zo people. The organization warned that such accusations could be used to legitimize a planned assault on their community, further escalating tensions in the region.

A total shutdown will be enforced on September 28, 2024, in all Kuki-Zo inhabited regions, monitored by Kuki Inpi and KSO in their respective areas.
