Ukhrul, November 21: Several Kuki-Zo civil bodies have lifted the Non-Cooperation movement imposed on the CRPF for the alleged killing of 10 Kuki-Zos on November 11 in Jiribam. In a joint statement made available to the press, various Kuki-Zo-Hmar organizations including KSO, ZSF, ZSP, Zillai, and HAS stated the decision was taken after a high-level discussion with the CRPF leadership including the Director General.

The community had earlier imposed the Non-Cooperation movement against the CRPF for the alleged killing of ten Kuki-Zo-Hmar “village volunteers,” as claimed by their civil bodies on November 11 in Jiribam. The security forces, on the other hand, had maintained that the victims were militants and were killed in retaliation to the attack on the Borobekra Police station adjacent to the Jakuradhor CRPF camp.

Following the meeting, the civil bodies stated that the CRPF officials had assured disengagement in any actions considered disrespectful to the community in the future and had expressed their sincere commitment to providing safety to the public. The various organizations also stated that they had agreed to the request made by the CRPF leadership for cooperation and fostering a respectful and cordial relationship with them.
The civil bodies hoping for better understanding and cooperation with the CRPF in the future, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their efforts in resolving the matter amicably.
