Lalzarmawii said she had little knowledge of hockey when Lalremsiami first developed an interest in the sport. Seeing her daughter’s passion for the game, the family enrolled her at Thenzawl Hockey Academy at the age of 11.
She said the family had never imagined that Lalremsiami would go on to achieve such a high level of success, adding that they were thankful for the blessings they had received. She also appreciated the congratulatory messages and words of encouragement from people across Mizoram and elsewhere.
Lalzarmawii further said that raising her children with spiritual guidance had always been important to her. She said she sought to bring them up according to God’s teachings and guide them towards the right path, with the hope that they would continue to uphold those values as they grew older.
Lalremsiami is one of eight siblings, with four elder and three younger siblings. The family has two sons and six daughters.
