Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun Organises Career Guidance Programme in Chandel

CHANDEL: The Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun (LKK) on Saturday organised a career guidance programme at P. Ralringkhu village in Chandel with Social Scientist and author Dhanabir Laishram along with Certified Career Analyst and Therapist M Premjit Singh enlightened hundreds of Lamkang students on career choices and lives.

As a resource person, Dhanabir Laishram, who is also a renowned motivational speaker, spoke on the choices students and the youths of today have in their lives with regards to profession. Stating that there were four examinations in life – personal life, family life, professional life and social life, the social scientist said that one was to give importance to each and every part of that life.

Maintaining that life is just from alphabet B to D with B being birth and D being death, Dhanabir said students must give importance to the letter C which is about Choices in life, Control in life, Character and Communication. If one were to follow the C of life, they would be successful, he said.

With regards on how to study well, the social scientist called on the students to emphasized on the SQRRR method, i.e. Survey – surveying the books they were reading or studying – as to who wrote it and why, the content of the book, the year of publication, the purpose of the book, etc. Then, one must raise and ask Questions, he said, adding that it was the only way to find answers. Then, he emphasized on reading, revision and reasoning for better understanding of books.

During the second session, M Premjit Singh, who is also Founder of Door 2 Door Career Consultants spoke on the various choices available with regards to profession in life. He said it was important for an individual to have a wish in life and study the obstacles that come with it. Then, with proper planning, one could outshine any obstacles and achieve their dreams.

He also spoke on how to prepare for civil services examinations and how to overcome them. He said one has to be dedicated and sincere in their endeavours in order to achieve dreams. Remove any obstacles that could be a stumbling block in achieving your targets,  he said.

During an interaction session, the two resource persons cleared doubts on various queries relating to Artificial Intelligence, on how to choose one’s life of profession and even on how to help build a good society.

Earlier, Johny Dilbung, president of LKK, welcomed the gathering and appreciated all those who came forward for the career guidance programme. He said it was an honour for the Lamkang community that such a renowned figure in the form of Dhanabir Laishram would share his experience and enlighten the students.

The career guidance programme saw over 300 students from the Lamkang community including parents and guardians.

Maria Dilbung and Mengtoi Rooney also entertained the gathering with their melodious and enchanting voices.
