Churachandpur, October 18: The Governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey on Wednesday morning visited Churachandpur District for the third time where she distributed relief materials at ECA Church Songgel and ECA Church Tuibong relief camps and held meeting with Internally Displaced Persons, CSOs leader at HQ 27th Sector Assam Rifles, Tuibong.

The Governor’s visit to the district coincided with the total shutdown from 6 am to 6 pm, called by women wing of Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum.
The Governor was briefly stopped at the Wall of Remembrances, Tuibong, breaking security protocol, by Kuki-Zo womenfolk around 10:30 am demanding Separate Administration. The Governor assured the Kuki-Zo people of Churachandpur that the Centre is committed and working towards solving the crisis. She also warned people of punishment as per the law of the Indian union for those who have taken the law into their own hands unleashing violence in the state.

At the relief camp at M Songgel the Governer planted saplings at ECA Church. Distribution of relief materials from Indian Red Cross Society by the Manipur Governor included kitchen kits, hygiene kits, mosquitoe net, pillow, quilt and mattress, including essential commodities like milk, fruits and sweets for children. She spent some time with the children of the relief camp.
Governer Anusuiya Uikey lamented the conflict in Manipur and the suffering of the people in the last 5 months. She assured that peace will be restored soon and people of the State will return to their normal lives, and return to their respective homes and villages.

The Governor was accompanied by Dharun Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Churachandpur, Immanuel Infimate Addl SP, SDOs and DLOs and other officials during her visit.
The Governor also visited Phubala High School relief camp under Bishnupur district. She interacting with the Internally Displaced Persons.
Anusuiya Uikey in her visit said that the purpose of her visiting to the relief camps on Wednesday is to give a healing touch to the people and also to instill confidence in the minds of the affected people roiled the conflict since May 3.
