CHURACHANDPUR: The total shutdown called by Kuki Students Organisation (KSO) Churachandpur and Zomi Students’ Federation, General Headquarters (ZSF-GHQ) paralyzed normal life in the district on Thursday. The shutdown was called following the brutal ambush on a team of Thadou Baptist Church leaders on Wednesday in Kangpokpi district which left three church leaders dead and five injured.
All establishments, including schools and colleges, transports and business establishments remained closed. No untoward incidents were reported during the shutdown.
Calling off the shutdown at 6 pm on Thursday, ZSF-GHQ informed that normal life will resume in their area.
“While the incident of the tragic death of three Church leaders is indeed regrettably, we pray that such incidents don’t repeat in the future,” ZSF-GHQ said in a statement while also expressing their gratitude to the public for their support.
