Manipur Tribal MLAs led by HAC Chairman with Outer MP Met Central Leaders

Tribal MLAs led by Hill Areas Committee Chairman, K. Leishiyo Keishing along with Outer Member of Parliament, Dr. Lorho Pfoze had met different central leaders on September 28 last.

The delegation was reported to have apprised G Kishan Reddy, DoNER Minister on behalf of the prime minister for implementation of Article 371(C) in letter and spirit in Manipur state. G Kishan Reddy assured to apprise the nation’s prime minister about the issue.

The team had also reported to have met the union home minister, Amit Shah on September 30 and had apprised him about the same issue. Later, the team reported to have met union Social Justice & Empowerment minister, Pratibha Bhowmik and Inner MP, R K Ranjan Singh, union minister of State, External Affairs & Education in New Delhi.


Although the details of their meeting could not be ascertained till filing of this report, it is expected that the team must have apprised the union ministers about the prevailing situation in the state about how the state assembly had denied to table the Manipur (Hill Areas) Autonomous District Council Bill, 2021 recommended by the Hill Areas Committee (HAC) of the state during the recent concluded state legislative assembly.
