Manipur University of Culture signs MoU with Thai University

Imphal: Manipur University of Culture on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Phranakhon Rajabhat University of Thailand regarding academic and cultural cooperation between the two universities.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Samantanet Conference Hall of Phranakhol Rajabhat University in the presence of Dr Tanom Intertkumert, chairman of the university council, said an official source here. 

Vice-chancellor Prof Paonam Gunindro Singh of Manipur University of Culture and acting president Associate Prof Preang Kitratporn of Phranakhol Rajabhat University are the signatories of the MoU.

The MoU aimed to enhance relations between the two universities and to expand collaboration in the exchange of education, research, culture and other activities. 

The two universities agreed to establish collaboration and work together for mutual benefit, the source said.

The area of cooperation will include any projects that each university organizes in accordance with demand, ensuring the successful collaboration between the two universities.

However, for projects specified in the MoU, their implementation is contingent upon the agreement of both universities.

The agreement is intended to encourage and support collaboration between the two universities in co-creating dual degree or joint degree programs, exchange of academic staff and students, exchange of knowledge and education technology, exchange of cultural programs and other activities, it added.

The MoU will be effective for five years from the date of signing it. Either of the universities may terminate the agreement by providing written notice to the other university at least six months before the specified termination date and consent must be obtained in writing from the other university, the terms of the MoU stated.

This is the 2nd MoU that Manipur University of Culture signed with Thailand-based universities, the first being with Surindra Rajabhat University in 2022.
