Meghalaya: NIELIT Job Fair 2026 Witnesses Over 800 Job Seekers

SHILLONG: The annual National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) Job Fair, 2026 witnessed more than 800 job seekers turning up at the Soso Tham Auditorium, Shillong on January 20.

The event connected graduates, diploma holders and early-career professionals from the East Khasi Hills and other districts to over 18 prominent companies and organizations through on-spot interviews, career counseling and employer presentations. Recruiters from various fields including IT & Hardware, security services, education, automotive, wellness and staffing services conducted multiple rounds of interview.

The spokesperson of NIELIT Shillong stated,“The turnout exceeded expectations and highlights the strong pool of skilled youth in the region. Events like this bridge the gap between employers and job seekers, accelerate placements, and stimulate local employment growth. We are committed to continuing such collaborative efforts to ensure sustainable career pathways for our youth.”

Employers said there was a consistent flow of qualified candidates and commended the smooth organisation of the event as well as the preparedness of participants. Several companies pointed to the region’s growing strength in IT and technical skills, while others expressed interest in candidates suited for customer service, sales and operations roles.
