Speaking to Ukhrul Times, EKAL advisor Wangkheirakpam Ngouba stated that the humanitarian effort was undertaken as a gesture of solidarity with the Tangkhul Nagas against the aggression of the Kuki Narco Terrorists. He expressed trust that the Nagas would assist the Meiteis when needed.

Similarly, Heikrujam Malemkhombi, Convenor IKAL Ima Lup, mentioned that EKAL, formed during the Khamenlok conflict, aims to share in the suffering of affected communities.
