Reacting to the statement of BJP in Mizoram that the state government had “set up a separate Covid-19 Care Centre (CCC) for treating VIPs infected with novel coronavirus”, Mizoram Health minister Dr. R. Lalthangliana clarified on Thursday that “there are no VIPs in the eyes of the government in terms of Covid-19 treatment”.

On Wednesday, the BJP in Mizoram had accused the state government of “honouring a VIP culture at a time the Central government is making massive efforts to do away with the culture”.

Refuting the allegation, Dr. R. Lalthangliana clarified that the state government treats all the COVID-19 patients without biasness.

The Health minister then said the state government has been treating all COVID-19 patients according to the health conditions of the patients but not on the basis of status.
Dr. R. Lalthangliana then termed the allegation of the BJP as baseless.

On Wednesday, the BJP in Mizoram accused the Mizo National Front (MNF) led state government of being partial in treating COVID-19 patients.
