NAB arrests 3 with heroin near Maphou Dam

Imphal: As part of the Manipur Government’s ‘War on Drugs 2.0’, a team from the Narcotics and Affairs of Border Police Station (NAB-PS) arrested three individuals with 581 grams of suspected heroin powder on Tuesday.

According to police, they were arrested along the road leading to Maphou Dam, near Forest Office, Napet Palli, Imphal East around 3.45 PM.

The arrested individuals as per police are identified as Fullmoon Kashung (37), son of Tangamba Kashung, from Thangjingpokpi Village, Laikoiching, Kangpokpi District, C.T. Jackson (43), son of C.T. Shimthar, from Kangsum Village, Kasom Khullen, Kamjong District and Ningshen Joy (40), son of Ningshen Yaoreingam, from Kangkhum Village, Nambasi Khullen, Kamjong District.

The NAB team seized 45 soap cases containing suspected heroin powder, with a total weight of about 581 grams (excluding the weight of the soap cases), two different rice bags used to conceal the drugs, one white-colored Bolero vehicle with registration number MN03P 2470, three mobile phones and other items, including documents related to the identity of the arrested individuals.

The arrested three have been handed over to the NAB-Police Station along with the seized items and a case has been registered for further investigation.
