NSCN-IM Issues Clarification on Misinterpreted Statement Involving Assam Rifles

Published on

Ukhrul: The NSCN/GPRN on Tuesday issued clarification “apropos the statement published by the Naga Army Wing on 12th September, 2024, necessitating rectification.”

The group has said that “Mentioning the name of Assam Rifles without any solid evidence is highly regretted and the term used in abbreviation, 4 ARs and ammunitions should be read as ‘4 Assault Rifles and ammunitions’.”

The clarification said tat the statement as “published in various print and digital media channels that 4 AR personnel were killed is therefore, wrongly interpreted. It should be read as ‘4 Assault Rifles and ammunitions’ and not as published and broadcast.”

It may be mentioned that the Assam Rifles in a rebuttal to allegations made by the NSCN-IM, had strongly rejected the claims as “baseless” and “misleading,” asserting that the accusations are aimed at damaging the reputation of security forces.
