UKHRUL, June 11: The NSCN/GPRN has strongly condemned the killing and alleged mutilation of six Naga civilians whose bodies were recovered on Tuesday, describing the incident as a “crime against humanity” and calling on the Government of India to outlaw the groups responsible.
The NSCN/GPRN Ministry of Information and Publicity in a statement issued on June 10, alleged that the victims were killed and their bodies mutilated by “Kuki terrorist gangs” and their affiliated village volunteers. It termed the incident a “barbaric killing” and a “savage violation of human dignity.”

“The deliberate desecration of human bodies serves no purpose other than to spread terror, weaponize fear, and inflict deep psychological trauma on grieving families and communities,” the statement said.
The NSCN/GPRN urged the Government of India to immediately declare the groups allegedly involved in the killings as terrorist organisations, arguing that the targeting of civilians, use of extreme violence, and alleged desecration of the dead meet the criteria of terrorism.
“Failure to crush these organizations will only embolden further atrocities and destroy any chance for justice and peace,” it stated.
The group also criticised the response of Indian security forces, alleging a disparity in treatment between Naga protesters and armed groups operating in the conflict-affected areas. It claimed that while Naga women, student activists, and village guards have faced action from security personnel, authorities have failed to prevent attacks on Naga civilians.
The statement further questioned whether such actions were consistent with the constitutional obligations of the Government of India to ensure justice, equality, and protection for all citizens.

Expressing condolences to the families of the victims, the NSCN/GPRN said it stands in solidarity with those affected by the killings and vowed to pursue justice. “The NSCN/GPRN will leave no stone unturned until those responsible for this savage act are brought to justice,” the statement added.
