The Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) has called August 9 notice a “blatand imposition” despite the pandemic to hoist national flag at Ukhrul and Kamjong districts’s respective village on the occasion of India’s Independence day celebration.

In response to the notification issued to village authorities by Deputy Commissioner Ukhrul and Kamjong on August 9, including Senapati and Noney districts to celebrate Indian Independence Day, the NSCN-IM counter directive instructed that “all the concerned Caretakers CAOs and EOs are instructed to see that such imposition at the cost of human lives at this juncture is defied and maintaine safety protocol,” it said.

The directive issued by S. Among Lim, Cabinet Secretary of the GPRN also instructed all its regional authorities to strictly oppose such anti activities within Naga jurisdiction.
