One from Ukhrul drown in Litan River, Another missing

One youth from Tangrei locality drowned in Litan river while another youth is missing after they went for a swim in Litan river.

According to Litan Police, the incident took place on Friday around 4:45 pm when four youths from Ukhrul who were travelling from Imphal-Ukhrul stopped over in Litan for a swim.

The victims has been identified as 26-year-old, Khanthing P Shimray, son of Jonathan P Shimray.

The other missing youth is identified as Tonmingam Chiphang 23-year-old, son of Rumchuithing Chipang.

Two of the youths are currently at Litan police station, while the body of the youth who drowned is being retrieved to be brought to Litan PS.

Sources said that Police and Litan locals are on the look out for the missing youth at the time of filing this report.
