In the meantime, continuous rainfall across Manipur and its surrounding hill areas has caused several rivers to overflow and breach their banks.

The Water Resources Department said that major rivers, including the Imphal, Iril, Nambol, and Nambul, are still flowing close to the warning level, although water levels are slowly starting to decrease.
As of Tuesday morning at 10 am, rainfall was measured at 8 millimetres in Kangpokpi, 1 millimetre each in Raj Bhavan and Lamphel, and 10 millimetres in Jiribam.

According to the Relief and Disaster Management Department, a total of 2,611 people are taking shelter in 57 relief camps located in various parts of Imphal East and West.

So far, the floods have affected 56,516 individuals, damaged 10,477 houses, and destroyed 64.31 hectares of crops.

The Indian Meteorological Department reported that there is no flash flood risk expected in the next 24 hours, until 5:30 pm on Tuesday.
