Ukhrul, June 12: Rockslide at Tungjoy Village, Senapati along National Highway 1012A has completely cut off Ukhrul-Tadubi road.
Sources informed that debris of huge rocks due to rockslide have blocked the National Highway 102A, the lifeline and the only connecting road of Ukhrul to Senapati and to Dimapur.
Sources also informed that the black topping had begun to wear off just because of the incessant rain in the last week. Commuters have started questioning the quality of the construction of the road. If it cannot withstand one monsoon or a year, one can surely question the quality of the work.
People are claiming that the rockslide is just a beginning. This very incident could be the result of poor bench cutting and can expect more such incidents even in the future.
