UKHRUL: The Rongmei Baptist Churches Council has appealed for the immediate release of all hostages, both Naga and Kuki while expressing anguish and concern by the increasing hate.
In its appeal, the Council stated, “Our hearts are grieved to witness that we, as a people, are increasingly blinded by hatred, allowing evil to seem victorious over good. This reality stands in stark contrast to the Christian faith we profess and the values we are called to uphold. As followers of Christ, we are reminded that love, peace, and righteousness must prevail over anger, violence, and division.”

It further stated that it is “compelled” to remind all that a crime against God’s anointed is not merely an offense against a human being, but a grave spiritual matter that invites the wrath of Almighty God while citing Bible verses including “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm” (Psalm 105:15), and again, “Who can lay a hand on the Lord’s anointed and be guiltless?” (1 Samuel 26:9). Regardless of who has committed such acts, raising hands against God’s servants is something that God Himself will judge. We are reminded that ultimate justice rests in the hands of God alone, for it is written, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord (Romans 12:19).
Appealing to all concerned to immediately release the hostages, the Rongmei Baptist Churches Council stated that choosing to release the hostages is an affirmation that we value life as sacred and entrusted by the Almighty.

“Let this act not be misunderstood as a sign of weakness, intimidation, or compulsion under any circumstance. Rather, let it stand as a testimony of moral strength and spiritual conviction that as believers in God, we are ultimately accountable to Him for every single soul,” it stated.
It further appealed to all to refrain from indulging in rumours, hearsay, and falsehoods and added that spreading misinformation, including false accusations and distorted narratives only corrupts minds and deepens divisions, causing greater harm instead of helping the situation.
