Rongmei Naga Students Org Manipur Against Planned Rally in Tamenglong and Noney

Tamenglong: The Rongmei Naga Students Organisation Manipur (RNSOM) has issued a statement declaring Tamenglong and Noney districts as peaceful zones, emphasizing that no rallies, sit-in protests, or any form of agitation will be permitted in these areas. This announcement comes in response to reports of a planned rally by the Kuki-Zou community scheduled for August 31, 2024.

In the statement, the RNSOM stated the importance of maintaining peace and tranquility in Tamenglong and Noney. The organization urged the rally organizers to reconsider and withdraw their plans in the best interest of the people living in these districts.

At the same time, the RNSOM also issued a stern warning that any disruptions or untoward incidents arising from the rally will not be the responsibility of the Rongmei community. The organization reiterated its commitment to ensuring the security and peaceful coexistence of all residents within the declared peaceful zones.

In a similar reaction to the proposed rally of the Kuki-Zo communities, the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong and the Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) has also issued stern warning against holding any rally or dharna within its [Naga] jurisdictions in Ukhrul, Kamjong and Senapati Districts.
