Senapati Police expresses gratitude for cooperation to stop poppy cultivation

Senapati: In a press release issued from the office of the Superintendent of Police, Senapati, it had expressed gratitude and appreciated the Village Chiefs/Chairmen and Village Authorities of Ngatan, Taphou Kuki, Makuilongdi, Kamalong, Yangkhullen, Kazing & Raipikilung, Sadim & Oklong villages for extending their support to the Government of Manipur on “War on Drugs” led by Chief Minister of Manipur by fighting against poppy cultivation in their villages.

The release mentioned that all the aforementioned villages will be acknowledged through a Certificate of Appreciation along with Cash Reward from District Administration during the Republic Day Celebration, 2023. Efforts are reportedly being taken by the Superintendent of Police, Senapati to tie up with Agriculture and Horticulture Department to extend possible support to these villages on priority under government schemes for alternate crops.

Further, Karthik Malladi, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Senapati district also appeals to all public to report any activities related to preparations for poppy cultivation in any part of Senapati District to POLICE CONTROL ROOM (8798198810) or to SP-Senapati (9873813093) without delay.
