Six more days Police custody for BJP leader Bernard N Marak

Shillong: The court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Tura in Meghalaya, remanded vice president of Meghalaya BJP unit and Tura MDC Bernard N Marak alias Rimpu to six more days police custody.

Informing this, West Garo Hills superintendent of police, SP VS Rathore said, “Bernard has been remanded to further six days police custody today by the court of CJM, Tura.”

Bernard is currently under the custody of Tura police since July 28.

Earlier, on August 11, the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Tura had remanded Bernard N. Marak to six days of police custody in the Explosives Substances Act Case.

Apart from this, a case under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 is also filed against Bernard.

Bernard was picked up from Hapur of Uttar Pradesh and brought back to Tura by the special team of Meghalaya police. He was arrested following a lookout notice issued.
