Ukhrul: The Somsai Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S), organised a bike rally for Ex-Servicemen and youths aspiring to join the Indian Armed Forces as part of Har Ghar Tiranga programe under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative at Ukhrul headquarters in Manipur on August 10.
In a press release issued by Assam Rifles, it said the initiative of the bike rally is aimed at invoking the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of locals. As part of the program the Assam Rifles troops also felicitated the Veer Nair (widows of an armed forces) who have made supreme sacrifice for the nation.

The release also said, 18 bikers drove from Ukhrul headquarters to Shanshak, spreading the message of unity & patriotism.
“The local populace applauded the efforts made by Assam Rifles for undertaking such initiatives as a precursor to Independence Week Celebrations,” the released said.
