After few days of relaxation of containment orders, containment rules on stringent covering of wider areas than earlier has been ordered in Tamenglong district. According to the order issued by District Magistrate, Armstrong Pame IAS, containment order was place in the entire area covering Tamenglong Ward 1-10 including Inriangluang, Farmelane area and Duigailuang.

The order stated that several positive cases were detected from all parts of the district headquarters in past one week. The decision to place containment order was made in District Task Force meeting held on Tuesday to contain the spread of virus and to carry out aggressive testing in areas deemed fit by the medical department, it said.

Entry and exit of population in the containment area will be restricted however the order exempted essential services including people going for vaccination, Child Protection Service, state and national projects without movement of labour. The rder will be effective from 1st June to 11th June or until further order, it said.

Meanwhile, Tamenglong district on Wednesday reported 9 Covid-19 positive cases. No fatality was reported in the district.

The district’s total active cases as of Wednesday stands at 158 and the cumulative number of positive cases has risen to 1777.

Total number of recovered positive cases as of Wednesday is 6, whereas the cumulative number of recovered positive cases stands at 1611, a recovery rate of 90.7%.

Tamenglong district has so far reported 8 Covid-19 fatality.
