UKHRUL: According to a press release issued by Thadou Inpi–Sadar Hills, the organisation observed the 33rd Remembrance Day on February 3, 2026 at Martyr Cemetery, Phailjang, paying its highest tribute to the Kuki-Zo martyrs who laid down their lives for cause of the Kuki-Zo political demand for Separate Administration.
The press release stated that the Thadou community, among the most severely affected by the ongoing conflict, has borne an immeasurable cost in lives lost, displacement and suffering. Despite this, it reaffirmed that the community remains firm and resolute in its commitment to the collective Kuki-Zo demand for Separate Administration in the form of a Union Territory with Legislature. The sacrifices of the martyrs, it said, are non-negotiable and shall neither be forgotten nor compromised.
The organisation, in the press release, issued a strong caution to all Thadou communities within Sadar Hills to remain vigilant and to completely reject what it described as misleading propaganda by vested interests falsely operating in the name of the Thadou. Such elements, it alleged, seek to align through appeasement with Meetei interests in an attempt to weaken unity and undermine the collective political struggle.

The organisation further reaffirmed its resolve to continue working in solidarity with kindred tribes, strengthening unity and resistance until the legitimate political rights and aspirations of the Kuki-Zo people are fully realised, it added.
