Senapati, Feb 16: Passenger bus service from Imphal to Tamphung village under Senapati district was flagged off by Dr. Nevidita Lairenlakpam, Director Transport at Manipur State Transport Campus Moirangkhom on Thursday.
Mention may be made that the Manipur State Transport department has introduced with Manipur State Transport bus to different routes in the state. Tamphung village under Senapati district is also known as the last border village adjacent to Peren district in Nagaland. The bus service is stated to ply from Imphal to the border village of Manipur via Maram and Bendramai in Senapati district.

A short flag off ceremony was attended by Joint Director MST Laishram Delina Devi, Deputy director, Dr. David Elangbam and MST Staffs in the presence of President and colleagues of Zeme Council, Manipur, Zeme Council, Senapati, Chairmen/Secretaries of different villages of the area and Zeme social workers of Senapati District.
The bus service will ply from Imphal to Tamphung village on Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting from 6:30 am at MST Office, Moirangkhom and from Tamphung village to Imphal on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from Tamphung village bazaar at the same timing. The 182 distance from Imphal to Tamphung village and vice versa will be charged Rs. 340/- per passenger.
The Zeme leaders expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister Manipur and the Transport Minister for availing the MST bus Services to one of the most remote area in Senapati district.
