Two Manipur police personnel allegedly escapes attack by suspected militants

Imphal, July 12:  Two personnel of the Manipur police commandos allegedly escaped an attack by suspected militants in the border town of Moreh that is severely affected by the ongoing violence, according to police.

The incident happened in broad-daylight, around 9:30 am today when the two police commandos in civvies posted in the border town went out to buy medicines from a pharmacy.

Upon seeing them, the suspected armed militants asked them to stop. But, they left the place sensing danger to their lives hurriedly.

The suspected militants open fired toward the two Manipur police personnel. Both did not suffer any major injury in the firing. One of them sustained minor injuries on his head after he bang on a parked auto-rickshaw while escaping from the attackers, the police added.
