UADC chief Dr Yaronsho Ngalung flags off ‘Shine Ukhrul’ drive to streamline traffic woes

Ukhrul: With the sole intent to ease traffic woes in the small bustling Ukhrul town, amid shrinking of parking space as most vehicles are parked on both side of the main town road coupled by the avalanche of people hitting the town for Christmas shopping, the UADC Caretaker chairman Dr Yaronsho Ngalung formally flagged off ‘Shine Ukhrul’ campaign in a simple function held at the UADC office campus in Phungreitang, on Wednesday.

The drive was launched in the presence of OSD/STC Chihansing Horam and traffic OC Barnabas.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr Ngalung stated that the ADC administration’s Small Town Committee (STC) is worried about the traffic system in the town and has been contributing in our bid to improvement on a regular basis. “This collaborative drive was launched with the goal of improving enforcement of traffic regulations for the public’s safety and convenience.”

While stating that the drive will continue indefinitely to bring about a positive change, he had made a clarion call to the public to extend their fullest cooperation so that drive targeted objectives is achieve and the traffic laws is restored,” Dr. Ngalung said, adding that drive required necessary expenditure, time, and energy.

Meanwhile OSD Horam also assured the volunteers that their basic needs for executing the tasks would be taken care of by the ADC authorities.

Appealing volunteers to maintain civic sense and not make fuss with traffic violators, Traffic OC Barnabas had exhorted the volunteers to deal everyone, including traffic violators, in a calm and respectful manner so that any conflicts scene is avoided and the town is made traffic compliant.
