Ukhrul, Feb 10: The people of Ukhrul district have resumed the agitation over the transfer of Kengoo Zuringla (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, which was put on hold following the Chief Minister’s assurance that the matter would be reconsidered.

The Media Cell of TNL and its Frontal Organisations issued a press release stating that “As per the resolution adopted in the joint sitting of the Tangkhul Naga Long and its frontal organisations held on the 10th of February 2025, we are all set to continue the agitation until and unless the authority concerned meet the demands of the public.

“While the transfer seems to be done as a normal official routine, it turns out to be totally otherwise in reality. There are lots of hidden agenda designed to be carried out against the wishes of the Tangkhul Naga people.

“Keeping all these facts in mind, we request the general public to extend every possible help towards fulfilling our demands and also bear the inconveniences caused by the ongoing agitation.”

Volunteers can be seen guarding the main entrance gate of Mini Secretariat Complex Ukhrul and locking the office of DC Ukhrul.
