Vibrant Cultural Show at Naga Baptist Leaders Meet

Ukhrul, March 26, 2025: The second day of the Naga Baptist Leaders Meet was marked by a colorful display of vibrant cultural performances from various Naga regions.

Naga Christian leaders  from Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Myanmar, and Manipur have gathered in Ukhrul to heal, unite, and restore harmony among their brethren.

Khashim Vashum, MLA of the 45-Chingai Assembly Constituency; Losii Dikho, MLA of the 48-Mao Assembly Constituency; Leishiyo Keishinh, MLA of the 43-Phungyar Assembly Constituency; and J. Kumo Sha, MLA of the 47-Karong Assembly Constituency attended the cultural celebration held at UBC Jubilee Hall, Ukhrul. Out of the nine Naga MLAs from Manipur who were invited, only four attended the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Losii Dikho appealed to the gathering to pray for peace in Manipur, hoping that harmony would be restored soon. He expressed gratitude to the churches for their unceasing prayers, offered selflessly.

Cultural performances were presented by Khiamniungan, Konyak (Myanmar), Poumai, Sumi, Tarao, and Phalee & Jessami, representing the Tangkhul Baptist Churches Association, the host of the Naga Baptist Leaders Meet 2025.

A Peace March will be held on March 27, 2025, at 7:00 AM. The congregation will gather at the premises of Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), Wino Bazaar, Ukhrul, and proceed to Union Baptist Church, Phungreitang, Ukhrul, for a prayer session. An ordained minister will lead the march, and the organizers have requested ministers to wear their ministerial dress (cassock).
