Ukhrul, November 1: Several Naga bodies have issued strong condemnations over the brutal and unprovoked assault on student leaders of the Monsang Naga community on the night of October 30, 2025, near Bijoypur, between Kakching Lamkhai and Pallel in Manipur.

The All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM); Naga Students’ Federation (NSF); Maring Students’ Union; Aimol Students’ Union; Anal Lenruwl Tangpi, General Headquarter (ALT GHq); Monsang Naga Students’ Union; Monsang Students’ Union, Manipur and Delhi; Monsang Elders Forum Delhi; UIPO (Khoibu) Students’ Union; Lamkang Students’ Union; Japhou Village Authority and Japhou Youth Club; Moyon Naga Students’ Union have condemned the attack.

According to ANSAM and NSF, the victims, Gideon Kiiri, President of the Sirti Thimjiitam Sourkhe (STS), Wanglar Phillip, General Secretary STS, Ts. Hollyson, and Th. The student bodies have denounced the incident as a cowardly and barbaric act targeting peace-loving Monsang youth leaders dedicated to community service.

In its statement issued from Kohima, the NSF expressed “deep indignation and outrage” at what it termed a “heinous and cowardly act” aimed at silencing young leaders devoted to the welfare of their community. The Federation said the attack was not only on individuals but also an assault on the “shared spirit of harmony and inter-community respect that the Nagas have long upheld.”

Reaffirming its commitment to peace, unity, and justice, the Federation pledged solidarity with the Sirti Thimjiitam Sourkhe and the Monsang community.

The described the “barbaric, cowardly, and premeditated life attempt” on the Monsang student leaders, calling it a “calculated effort to intimidate and destabilize the moral courage of the Naga students’ movement.”

The Association further vowed to stand “shoulder to shoulder with the Monsang Naga Students’ leaders” in the pursuit of justice, affirming that the Naga student community “will not be cowed.”
