Kamjong, October 31: The much-awaited Tangkhul Music Festival (TMF 2025) opened on Thursday with great fanfare at the scenic Ramrei Eco Tourism Park in Kamjong District. Themed “Echoes of Peace,” the event has been conceptualised and organised by the Indian Army in collaboration with the Tangkhul Music Forum and local communities, aiming to foster harmony, cultural unity, and community participation through music and art.

The inaugural ceremony began with the arrival of dignitaries and a warm introduction by Ms. Phapha Gachui, former Miss Manipur 2016. This was followed by an Opening Prelude by Chanmayo Kashung and the Flag Hoisting by Padma Shri Guru Rewben Mashangva. The Guest of Honour addressed the gathering, underscoring the role of music as a bridge of peace and understanding.

The audience was treated to vibrant cultural performances by the Tangkhul Naga Valley Students’ Association and Haola Ramrei Shanao Long, while a special presentation by the Indian Army drew enthusiastic applause, reflecting the growing spirit of unity and goodwill between the Army and local communities.

As dusk fell, the evening session came alive with captivating performances by local artists and bands, adding rhythm and energy to the cool Ramrei air. Food stalls serving traditional delicacies lent the event a festive charm, as over 1,000 attendees celebrated music, culture, and togetherness.

The opening day of TMF 2025 reaffirmed the Indian Army’s continued commitment to promoting peace, nurturing local talent, and strengthening civil-military relations through cultural collaboration.
