Ukhrul, November 19: The Tangkhul Naga Long, Chandel Naga People’s Organisation, Karnataka Meitei Association (KMA) have strongly condemned the recent spate of violence in Jiribam leading to the loss of lives of innocent women and children.
The Tangkhul Naga Long while admitting that conflicts and confrontation often lead to unwelcome circumstances, maintained that there should be no justification for going on a killing spree of helpless women and children. It terms the act as beastly and an affront to humanity and reminds the perpetrators that in committing such acts, they have massacred the soul of humanity.

On the other hand, the Chandel Naga People’s Organization has also strongly denounced the ongoing spate of violence owing to the ethnic conflict since May 3, 2023. In a strongly worded press release, it expressed its shock and dismay over how six innocent women and children were abducted from a relief camp and subsequently murdered. Terming the act as shameful, inhumane, and primitive, it reprimanded the perpetrators that such acts have no place in a civilized society. The organization then appeals for peace, understanding, and harmonious coexistence among different communities in the state.
