Shillong: A twenty-six-year-old woman was arrested from a slum area of Sweeper Lane in Shillong today by the police Anti-narcotic Task Force (ANTF).

99.21 grams of heroin, 51 empty vials, 13 soap cases, 1 mobile phone and 1 Aadhaar card were seized from her possession, SP (City) Vivek Syiem said in a statement today.

“The drug supplier is the same one that appeared in the video at GS Road near Bimola Junction which had gone viral and caused public consternation over the open sale of drugs,” the police officer said while adding that the hunt is also on for other drug suppliers in the area.

A case has been registered at Shillong Sadar police station under the NDPS Act.
