SENAPATI: Assam Rifles, in coordination with Manipur Police, carried out a successful anti-narcotics joint operation on Friday at Maram Kabinam village under Senapati district.
A team comprising the Special Operation Team (SOT) Senapati, Maram Police Station, B/109 CRPF, and 16 Assam Rifles, under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Senapati, conducted random frisking and checking along NH-2 at Kabinam under Maram Police Station.
During the operation, a black Scorpio vehicle was stopped for checking. Upon thorough inspection, 40 soap cases containing suspected heroin were found concealed behind the rear seat of the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Manglenthang Tuboi (25), son of Thangjalun Tuboi, a resident of Saikul Bazar in Kangpokpi district.

Security forces recovered a total of 40 soap cases containing approximately 551 grams of suspected brown sugar, with an estimated international market value of ₹1.10 crore.
The seized items include a Scorpio vehicle (Regd. No. NL07CD 7347), one mobile handset (Poco M2 Pro) with SIM card and 40 soap cases of suspected heroin. A regular case has been registered at Maram Police Station for further investigation.
The successful recovery highlights the unwavering commitment of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police in combating the drug menace and their continued efforts to ensure peace, security, and a drug-free society in the region.
