‘37 Indian Soldiers Killed By Naga Separatists’ is FAKE NEWS

Published on

Ukhrul, May 10: The viral claims alleging that 37 Indian Army soldiers were killed in an ambush by the NSCN-IM (National Socialist Council of Nagalim – Isak-Muivah) in Assam’s Dima Hasao district is fake news. No official sources have corroborated the occurrence of any such incident.

The news is completely baseless, fabricated, and part of a malicious disinformation campaign.

The false report, which has been circulated widely on social media, likely initiated by a X handle, published in a website, is most likely based out of Pakistan, and some fringe digital platforms amidst the broader regional tensions involving India and Pakistan.

Readers of Ukhrul Times are urged to refrain from sharing unverified content and report such misinformation to appropriate authorities.

Meanwhile, the Assam government says it has established a dedicated helpline at Assam Bhawan, New Delhi for students from Assam studying outside the state.
