Analon Christian Institute holds 50th Annual Sports Meet in Chandel

Chandel, October 8: Analon Christian Institute, Lambung, Chandel, celebrated its 50th Annual Sports Meet with enthusiasm and festive spirit under the theme “Higher, Faster and Further.”

The grand opening ceremony was graced by Col. Amit Mane, Commandant of 21 Assam Rifles, Modi, as the Chief Guest, accompanied by his team of officers. The day began early with a marathon at 5:00 AM, followed by a torch rally from DC Junction to the school campus, where Col. Mane lit the sports flame, officially inaugurating the meet.

Vice Principal Warngam Langhu extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, officers, teachers, students, and parents, while Sports Convenor Moses Khumlo underscored the role of sports in nurturing discipline, teamwork, and perseverance among students.

The event featured a colourful drill display by Scorpion and Taurus Houses, a special song by the winner of ACI Got Talent, and a vibrant dance performance by Juhman & Crew. In his address, Col. Mane urged students to uphold the values of determination, unity, and sportsmanship in both sports and life.

The Sports Committee led the oath-taking ceremony, followed by an impressive march past of the four houses, Taurus, Phoenix, Orion, and Scorpion. The Chief Guest then declared the 50th Annual Sports Meet open amid cheers from an enthusiastic crowd of around 400 attendees.

The day concluded with thrilling competitions, including the Water Bucket Championship, showcasing the students’ spirit of teamwork and enthusiasm.

The celebration marked a significant milestone for Analon Christian Institute, commemorating 50 years since its founding in 1975 and reaffirming its commitment to excellence in academics, discipline, and sports.
