Around 3,000 people evacuated; safe passage given from both Churachandpur and Imphal

Churachandpur: District administration Churachandpur today informed that about 1500 people stranded at different relief camps in Imphal were received today at Peace Ground, Tuibong. Similar number of people who were sheltered at relief camps at Churachandpur district was given safe passage towards Imphal along with security convoys.

Churachandpur District Administration said that it has continued to put in vigorous efforts to restore normalcy in the district by reaching out to local CSOs apart from maintaining close coordination among the security forces.

It further informed that it is working in close coordination with philanthropic organisations who run relief camps by extending necessary assistance. The district administration has also put in place all arrangements to receive people who are stranded outside the district at Peace Ground, Tuibong.

At the same time, no major incidents have been reported during the last 24 hours.

Curfew was relaxed for five hours today from 6 AM to 11 AM. In comparison with the previous days, more shops are opened during curfew relaxation hours and more people came out to buy their daily needs.

The district administration has urged all concerned to maintain peace and refrain from spreading and relying on rumours to avoid breach of peace. Instead of falling prey to misinformation, facts may be ascertained from the district administration.
