Agartala: Bringing pride to Meghalaya, 28-year-old bodybuilder Atlanta D Shira from Garo Hills swept the stage at the National Physique Championship under the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) with two gold medals and one silver. The event—widely regarded as a top-tier national competition under IFBB—was held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here in Agartala.

The championship was formally inaugurated on Monday by Tripura’s Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, along with Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor and local MLA Dipak Majumder and other dignitaries.

Addressing the youths, Minister Chowdhury said, “In today’s time, such encouraging bodybuilding competitions are very significant for the youth, as they provide a platform for athletes to showcase their talents and help guide the energy of the youth in the right direction.”

“Feel glad and proud to be winning these titles at the National physique championship under IFBB held at Agartala in Tripura. Very much grateful to each and every one who supported me. I want to give my special thanks to my Sponsors who supported me not only financially but with their kind words,” he added.
