Azim Premji Foundation Opens Round 2 Applications

UKHRUL: The Azim Premji Foundation has announced the opening of Round 2 applications for the Azim Premji Scholarship (2025–26), aimed at supporting girls from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education. The second round will be open from January 10 to January 31, 2026.

The scholarship helps reduce financial barriers to college education and is expected to benefit over 30,000 girls from the Northeastern states, with up to 2.5 lakh girls nationwide likely to receive support this academic year.

Eligible applicants include girls who have passed Class 10 and 12 from government schools or colleges and have secured admission in the first year of a recognised undergraduate degree or diploma course (2–5 years) in the 2025–26 session. The scholarship provides ₹30,000 per year for the full duration of the programme, which can be used for tuition or other educational expenses.

For 2025–26, the scheme covers 18 States and one Union Territory, including Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim, among others.

The application process is entirely online and free, through the Azim Premji Foundation’s official website. The scholarship was piloted in 2024–25 and benefited over 25,000 girls in its first year.
