Ahead of ADC Polls, 495 Indigenous Voters in Tripura Embrace BJP

Agartala, Jan 4: Indigenous communities in Tripura are increasingly choosing the path of development and transparent politics by joining the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), as demonstrated at a mass joining ceremony at Hatai Kotor, also known as Baramura, where as many as 495 voters from 181 families left various political parties to embrace the saffron flag ahead of the upcoming ADC elections.

The joining program was organized by the BJP’s 16-Mandainagar Pulinpur ADC constituency unit and witnessed the presence of Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, and Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha stated, “Politics based on public deception and excessive manipulation cannot sustain for long. People in indigenous areas now realize that genuine development is impossible without the BJP.”

He emphasized that the spontaneous participation of indigenous mothers and sisters at the program reflects this transformation, adding that the government remains committed to fulfilling various demands of indigenous communities directly.

BJP State President Bhattacharjee remarked, “Building Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura is possible not by misleading indigenous communities, but by taking indigenous society along through genuine development.”

He observed that indigenous brothers and sisters are breaking free from decades of confusion to unite under the BJP flag, noting that while the Left regime viewed the hills merely as vote banks, the BJP government has provided a new direction for development.

Meanwhile, Minister Debbarma highlighted that the mass joining on the eve of ADC elections stems from public trust in the party’s development agenda. He noted that people in indigenous-dominated areas clearly understand that genuine and inclusive development is possible only under BJP leadership, with the government remaining committed to fulfilling people’s expectations and rights.
