Ukhrul, November 5: As part of its ongoing Civic Action Programme, the Border Security Force (BSF) Manipur has announced plans to conduct 30 free medical and health awareness camps across the state over the next four months. The initiative aims to provide essential healthcare services and address medical gaps in remote and underserved areas.
Per BSF, the first camp under the programme was organized on November 4 at T/Khullan village in Senapati district, drawing an overwhelming response from the local population. More than 500 residents from South Changaubung, T/Khullan, Ningthaupham, Myangkhang, Hembung, and neighbouring villages availed of free medical consultations and treatment.

A team of doctors from the BSF and District Hospital, Senapati provided clinical diagnostic investigations, child health check-ups, and general health awareness sessions. Essential and life-saving medicines were distributed free of cost based on the doctors’ prescriptions, BSF said.
In addition to healthcare services, facilities such as canteen and banking services were also made available, along with interactions between residents and district authorities.

According to the BSF, the Civic Action Programme reflects the force’s continued commitment to the well-being and welfare of local communities. “These initiatives aim to strengthen trust, enhance healthcare accessibility, and promote cooperation between the security forces and the people,” a BSF release said.
