Ceasefire Agreement Between GoI and NSCN(K) Niki Faction Extended for One Year

Kohima: The Government of India and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (K) Niki faction have officially extended their Ceasefire Agreement for an additional year, effective from September 8, 2024.

This new extension will last until September 7, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to achieve lasting peace in the state of Nagaland with the active participation of the Naga people.

The extension of the ceasefire, as per MHA is contingent upon strict adherence to the Ceasefire Ground Rules, which have been mutually agreed upon and signed by both parties. These rules are subject to review and amendment through a collaborative process involving both the Government of India and the NSCN(K) Niki faction.

Representatives from both sides formally signed the agreement today, September 4, 2024, solidifying the commitment to peace and stability in the region.
