CM inaugurates multi developmental projects in Senapati district

Senapati: Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Friday inaugurated and laid foundation stone of multi developmental projects at Senapati.

The State CM was accompanied by Konthoujam Govindas, minister, Works & YAS as the functional President, Letpao Haokip, minister, TA & Hills & Horti, Khshim Vashum, minister, Transport, AH & Vet, Dinganglung Gangmei, Chairman, HAC, Karam Shyam, MLA & Chairman, TCML, Kongkham Robindro Singh, MLA & Chairman, MANIDCO, J Kumo Sha, MLA, 47-Karong AC, Losii Dikho, MLA, 48-Mao AC and N Kayisii, MLA, 49-Tadubi AC as guests of honour respectively.

Inauguration of different projects included Open Gym at Senapati Public Ground constructed under department of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt of Manipur, mini outdoor stadium at Senapati Public Ground for a project cost of Rs 725.87 lakh under NEC, UCO Bank Branch (A Govt of India undertaking) at Phaibung Khullen, Sub-Treasury Office at Tadubi under Directorate of Treasuries & Accounts, Govt of Manipur and 2 model Anganwadi Centres (CSR) building at Rikhumai Taphou, Senapati and at Paomata Centre with DRDA, Senapati as the implementing agency and funded by Central Warehousing Corporation, India under CSR initiative.

Laying of foundation stones including Indigenous Sports Complex at Maram Khunou for a project cost of Rs 7.20 crores under scheme for Special Assistance for Capital Expenditure during 2022-23 with Minorities and OBC Economic Development society (MOBEDS) as the implementing agency, District Youth Skilling, Entrepreneurship & Employment Centre, Senapati at Maram Khunou under planning department with MPHC Ltd as the construction agency and Construction of Synthetic Football Turf at Senapati public ground at project cost of Rs 493 lakhs under NEC with MANIDCO Ltd as the implementing agency.

Local MLAs of 47-Karong AC and 48-Mao AC lauded the state govt for taking the developmental programs to the hill districts with an aim for equal development in the state. With an aim to promote the youth of the state, most of the programs and projects launched this day emphasised on youth. L Dikho, MLA, 48-Mao AC urged the gathering to carry the message to every corner who asks all the youth to contribute in what way they can for the state.

Letpao Haokip, Minister, TA & Hills & Horticulture in his speech stated that such developmental programs are part of “Go to Hills and Go to village.” The present govt is stated to have been breaking away the barriers of the hills and valley by bringing them together as one. The minister also urged to support the present govt so as to make all hill district headquarters similar to Imphal city in near future which is the dream of the present govt led by N Biren Singh as the chief minister.

Konthoujam Govindas, Minister, Works & YAS stated that Biren led Govt 2.0 had delivered such inaugurations and some more projects on the pipeline for Senapati district within 6 months time ensuring development at par and positive transformation on inclusive growth in the state. The works minister also declared that progress of state communication system with a vision to improve and promote the youth of the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister N Biren Singh stated to develop Senapati comparable to Nagaland capital, Kohima in building infrastructures. While the people of the district are crazy after indigenous games, the state CM had already sanctioned for Indigenous sports complex at the district headquarters with Rs 7.5 crores.

The CM also advised for a competent contractor to ensure world class structure. The CM then stated the importance of “Meeyamgi numit or Hills Leaders Day” where it functioned very well before arrival of Covid-19. The developmental programs were reportedly available to deliver through different feedbacks from such programs of the past. Rs 5 lakh to the poor and needy under Ayushman Bharat card and health card under CM has been availed to the people which have increased from Rs 2 lakh to 5 lakh reportedly earmarked to 37,000 for Senapati district.

The CM also read out different developmental projects that are undertaking which is near completion under different schemes and departments. CM Biren Singh also lauded the public for their support to crack down illegal cultivation of poppy which he called “Not Govt’s movement but people’s movement” to stop them leading to decrease of illegal drug business in the state.

Chief minister N Biren Singh declared that the projects for Indigenous Sports Complex and Construction of Synthetic Football Turf at Senapati to finish and inaugurate before the code of conduct for MP election elections come in 2024.
