UKHRUL, June 11: The Eastern Naga Students’ Association (ENSA) in Myanmar has strongly condemned the abduction and killing of six Naga individuals in Manipur, describing the incident as a “barbaric and inhumane act” and calling for an immediate investigation to bring those responsible to justice.
ENSA said the killings constitute a grave violation of human rights and an attack on the dignity, security, and existence of the Naga people.
“The senseless murder of innocent lives has shocked and saddened Nagas across all regions,” the ENSA in a statement stated while expressing its deepest condolences to the bereaved families.

ENSA demanded an immediate, impartial, and thorough investigation into the incident and urged the concerned authorities to ensure that all those involved, directly or indirectly, are identified and held accountable. “Impunity for such atrocities must not be tolerated under any circumstances,” the statement said.
The student body in Myanmar also called on civil society organisations, community leaders, and all stakeholders to unequivocally condemn the killings and work collectively to prevent further violence and loss of innocent lives.
Appealing for unity among Nagas, ENSA urged Nagas across regional and administrative boundaries to stand in solidarity with the bereaved families and communities affected by the tragedy.
“At this critical moment, ENSA appeals to all Nagas beyond artificial boundaries to stand united in solidarity with the bereaved families and our people in the southern regions,” it stated, adding that the shared identity, history, and aspirations of the Naga people must remain stronger than divisions imposed upon them.
While mourning the loss of the victims, ENSA urged Nagas to remain steadfast, vigilant, and united in defending the rights, dignity, and security of the people through lawful and peaceful means. Reaffirming its commitment to justice, peace, and the protection of human dignity, ENSA asserted that atrocities against innocent civilians can neither be justified nor forgotten.

Meanwhile, the Naga Scholars’ Association (NSA) has strongly condemned the killing of six Naga men whose bodies were recently recovered in Manipur, describing the incident as a “heinous and barbaric” act and a grave affront to human dignity.
In a condemnation statement issued on Wednesday, the NSA in Delhi alleged that the six men were abducted, tortured, and killed by Leilon Vaiphei villagers in collusion with the KNF (P). The association described the incident as an act of exceptional cruelty that has shocked the conscience of the Naga people.
“The cold-blooded abduction, torture, and brutal killing of these innocent men is a crime of exceptional cruelty,” the statement said.
The NSA further alleged that the victims’ bodies were mutilated and dismembered, describing the reported acts as evidence of “inhumanity, moral degeneration, and depravity.”
According to the association, the incident represents not only a criminal act but also a profound violation of the sanctity of human life and the fundamental values that underpin civilized society.
“The perpetrators of this atrocity have not only taken innocent lives but have desecrated the dead in a manner that shocks the conscience and offends every principle of justice, decency, and humanity,” the statement added.
The NSA stated that no grievance, ideology, or political objective could justify such violence, asserting that the killings reflect a disturbing disregard for human dignity and moral values.
