Full state honor paid to slain Havildar T Sieleshwor; Manipur govt to announce its official stance soon

Imphal: State level tribute was paid to late Takhellambam Sieleshwor Singh, Havildar of Manipur Police, 10th IRB (Hav. No. 112005762) at Manipur Police Memorial Complex, 1st Manipur Rifles in Imphal on Friday. Sieleshwor Singh was killed in line of duty during the attack on Manipur State Commandos by Kuki militants at Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh on January 17.

Speaking on the sidelines, spokesperson of Manipur Government and Education minister Thounaojam Basantakumar condemned the recent killing of civilians in the state.

He said, attack on civilians is considered as terrorist attack worldwide and Manipur Government is all set to give a befitting response to such terrorist attacks. Combined teams of state and central forces have been formed to tackle the issue, he added.

Minister Basantakumar also said Manipur government will announce its official stance and its decision shortly after holding a meeting of state legislative members as well as state cabinet meeting.

Minister Heikham Dingo, Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, top police officials and family members among others paid floral tribute to late Seileshwor. After the floral tribute ceremony, the Havildar’s mortal remains was taken to his birthplace at Lamsang Akham Mamang Leikai for performing last rites.
