Govindas Konthoujam resigns from Manipur Congress

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) former president, Govindas Konthoujam who resigned from his former party on July 20, 2021 has effectively resigned from his primary membership from Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) and from the membership of the Manipur Legislative Assembly citing personal reasons on Wednesday.

The former MPCC president from Bishnupur Assembly Constituency, a six-time consecutively elected Congress MLA, according to source submitted his resignation letter to Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker, Yumnam Khemchand today, which has been accepted.

Secretary M. Ramani Devi, Manipur Legislative Assembly in an official bulletin confirmed his resignation and added in the statement “Consequent upon his resignation, 26-Bishnupur Assembly Constituency is now lying vacant with effect from Wedneday, the 28th July, 2021.”
