Speaking to the media, Sapamcha Jadumani, President of the Federation of Haomee, expressed that the communities have lost trust in both the state and central governments. He highlighted the need for a collective effort to safeguard Manipur from those attempting to undermine the state. Jadumani called for unity among indigenous peoples to combat what he described as aggression from the Kukis, who he claimed are encroaching from outside. He asserted that Manipur encompasses both the valley and the hills and emphasized the commitment of these communities to confronting external aggressors and holding them accountable.
A rally was held in and around the Palace Compound to express solidarity. Participants burned effigies of PS Haokip, chief of the Kuki National Organization (KNO), and Thangliangpau Guite, chief of the Zomi Revolutionary Organization/Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA).
Chanting slogans such as “Long Live Manipur” and “Save Manipur’s Integrity,” rally-goers held banners that read, “We are united, never separated,” and “We will defend the land collectively”.
