Kom Union Manipur Denies Its Tribe’s Role in Delhi Event Linked to Kuki-Zo SA Demand

Imphal: The Kom Union Manipur in press conference on Saturday clarified that an individual who was seen wearing the Kom tribe’s traditional attire in an event held in New Delhi linked to the demand for Kuki-Zo’s Separate Administration is not associated with the Kom community.

Boyes Kom, the spokesperson for the Kom Union Manipur told media on that no individual of the Kom tribe participated in the event in New Delhi.

The KUM spokesperson urged the public to disregard misleading social media posts, particularly on Facebook, that wrongly implicate the Kom community in the ongoing Manipur crisis. Boyes Kom also expressed concern that individuals are impersonating Kom tribe members to tarnish the community’s image.

He reiterated that the Kom community is dedicated to promoting peace and peaceful coexistence in Manipur.
