UKHRUL: The village authority of Langka (Taniuluang) Naga village under Kangpokpi District has alleged a terror attack by Kuki militants under the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement.
Reliable sources have also reported gunfire between suspected Kuki militants and Naga village volunteers in the area. The sources also reported that farm houses belonging to the villagers were burnt and destroyed, besides killing a buffalo and a dog by the suspected Kuki militants. However, there have been no official reports of casualties thus far.

In a press release, the Langka Naga village authority reported that “Kuki militants of the KNF(P) group, which is under the SoO, attacked around 8:40 AM. Strongly condemning the attack, the villagers allege that the Kuki terrorist camp at Bileijang village, where the non-SoO militant group KNF (Nehlun), a proxy of the KNF(P) SoO group, is based, is commanded by KNF(P) Home Secretary Jangboi Kipgen, the unified commander of all Kuki militants in Kangpokpi district under both the SoO and non-SoO arrangements.”
“Kuki terrorists launched an attack on the civilian population of Langka Naga Village using heavy weapons and explosive devices, causing fear and insecurity among the local population,” the village authority alleges. Accusing the group of being responsible for the attack, it warns of more similar attacks on the Naga villages along the IT road in the coming days.

The village authority urges the state government to conduct a thorough, impartial, and time-bound investigation into the KNF(P) cadres; identify those responsible, especially the KNF (Nehlun) group; in the Kuki villages of Lasan, Songpibung, Baleijang, Haimol, Laloi and take appropriate legal action in accordance with the law before the situation escalates beyond control.
The Langka Naga village has called upon all concerned to exercise restraint, maintain peace, uphold the rule of law, and prevent any further escalation of violence.
